Last night, Conan O'Brien premiered his version of The Tonight Show. It's a little early to gauge how the show will be, especially since this one was jam packed. But this Conan O'Brien looks classier, more confident, and still hilarious. I think Conan has adapted (or will adapt, let's see his recurring characters) his brand of comedy just fine to the glossy, high production values and expectations of the Tonight Show franchise.
I look forward to checking out The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien every night I can. It's healthier than following Jimmy Fallon every night. ... :-\

Of course I'll be a nightly watcher of this show.
ReplyDeleteI'll be writing about it probably at the end of the week or early next week.
So far I only watched the opening of the show.
I'm kind of surprised they kept the same theme song and renamed the band, but whatever.
I'm just excited Conan's back!
There was some beautiful cinematography in that opening, don't you think? Tonight's show was also good. They're really coming out running, it reminds me when they travel for one week and they seem to have this sense of urgency to commit and really nail their shows and comedy.
ReplyDelete"...it reminds me when they travel for one week..."
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what how I feel about it.
Somewhere in the back of my mind I keep thinking "oh, next week they'll be back in New York."
In either case, I believe we have to wait until things settle down to truly see what the new Conan is like (if he even is a "new" Conan).
